About the U.S. District Court Southern District of Florida – West Palm Beach
The U.S. District Court Southern District of Florida is the federal United States district court with territorial jurisdiction over the southern part of the state of Florida.
The court’s jurisdiction covers the nine counties of Broward, Highlands, Indian River, Martin, Miami-Dade, Monroe, Okeechobee, Palm Beach, and St. Lucie, encompassing the South Florida metropolitan area, including Miami, Fort Lauderdale, and West Palm Beach.
This district spans 15,197 square miles and is home to approximately 6.3 million people. Courthouses, corresponding to the district’s five divisions, are situated in Fort Lauderdale, Fort Pierce, Key West, Miami, and West Palm Beach.
